"I'd been on the stage for years, since I was a kid," says Jake Scaltreto of the Flat Earth Theater Company. "But it's a different experience to be directing -- when it all comes together, it's very satisfying." Jake and playwright Kevin Mullins had been thinking about forming a theater company for a long time, says Scaltreto: "We tried to pull something together last year, but it just didn't work out. But this year, we said, "This time, we're going to do it." And it worked out."
The first production of the newly formed theater company is "Joe." Written by Kevin Mullins, the play presents the tale of a man confronting a changing America in the wake of the death of his wife. "The play's about the challenges we face today, and have faced at different times through history," Scaltreto says.
The premier performance of the company-- and the play, will be tonight, 8PM, at Watertown High School. Tickets are $10 for adults and 7 for students.
